When comparing resorts in the Tarentaise, Sainte Foy often gets overlooked with people thinking how can a resort with 4 lifts and less than 40km of piste compare with its larger neighbours. For those that do make the mistake of driving past on their way to Tignes and Val d’Isere it is their loss and our gain. The terrain accessible from these 4 lifts is impressive, maximum use has been made of the Northwest facing bowl to provide glorious blue runs for all abilities, challenging reds for the more advanced and unpisted black runs that will provide the sternest test for the very best of skiers and boarders. All these pistes funnel back down the mountain and finish back in the resort making it perfect for families safe in the knowledge it is very hard to get lost. So far I have only mentioned the piste skiing/boarding, Sainte Foy has a well founded reputation of having some of the best Off Piste skiing/boarding in the Tarentaise. The areas between the pistes are ideal for those making their first tracks, whilst the more experienced can tackle the likes of Crystal Dark, Morion and Col du Granier. For those that want to venture further, why not take a guide and explore routes via the historic village of Le Monal and the North face of La Fogliettaz a 1700 mtr vertical descent down to La Masure for lunch in Chez Marie, one of the best restuarants in the Alps.
